Smart Design Thinking and the Environmental Agenda

Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 May 2018 (two day seminar)

The Smart Design Thinking and the Environmental Agenda Masterclass at Leicester Castle Business School will show how the use of smart design thinking can help companies respond to the current environmental agendas around the development of new products. It will introduce some of the current environmental and packaging legislation and what tools are currently available to help respond to it; in particular it will demonstrate how smart design thinking can develop products that minimise environmental impact and yet still be economically viable.

Through attending this seminar, you will:

  • Learn about negotiating the development of products within the changing demands of minimising environmental impact whilst maintaining economic performance
  • Understand recent developments to the UK’s environmental agenda
  • Develop your knowledge of environmental and packaging legislation and gain a toolkit to help you respond to it

Delivered by: Professor Peter Ford

This Masterclass will be led by Professor Peter Ford and members of the De Montfort University Design Unit which has successfully led product design interventions with small, medium and large enterprises in the East Midlands for 25 years.
